Dear SEC members,
Maybe we have already met in the Common Room or at a sociology lecture. If we have not: I am Nathalie Sijbrands, master student Urban Sociology and I have been an active member of SEC during my bachelor as well. Besides that I am the chairwoman of the Common Room this year. SEC and the Common Room go way back: students and teachers used to drink beers together at the Spinhuis, now we have a huge team of SEC members helping to run our bar. We are an independent living room inside REC-C, close to the new entrance of the REC-A building. The Common Room is opened for all students from the social sciences faculty. During the day people often study on our comfy couches, and later in the afternoon and in the evening, there is a lot of beer to enjoy. If you are feeling a bit hungover the next day, these same couches are very suitable to have a quick nap. The SEC board-room is located next to the Common Room and you are always welcome to visit us and come say hi. We have beers for 1 euro, and the bar is opened from 3 till at least 7pm, but often we stay longer. Enjoy this newsletter!

New board
At the Transferal General Meeting of October 16, the board of 2016-2017 resigned and the board of 2017-2018 was officially intstalled. What has been discussed during the Transferal General Meeting can be found in the meeting minutes (only in Dutch) on the website (see the message below for the password). Also the board’s plans for the coming year were presented, these can be found on the website too!
